Questions

What should I do if my boiler is frequently breaking down?

If your boiler is frequently experiencing faults, it may be nearing the end of its service life. Consider evaluating a heat pump as a replacement option to improve energy efficiency and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Consult a qualified installer to assess your home’s suitability for a heat pump, taking into account factors like building insulation and existing heating infrastructure.

Why are some rooms in my house colder than others?

Uneven heat distribution may be due to inefficient radiator design or issues with your current heating system. Heat pumps offer a more even heating solution when properly sized and configured. Evaluate each room’s heat loss and consult an installer to determine if updates to radiators or additional underfloor heating may be necessary for consistent warmth throughout your home.

Is a heat pump a good replacement for oil or LPG heating systems?

Yes, heat pumps can be an excellent replacement for oil or LPG systems, as they offer a more sustainable heating solution. They reduce energy costs and environmental impact by utilising renewable energy from the air or ground. Verify the suitability with a professional installer who can assess household needs, heat loss, and any necessary infrastructure changes to maximise efficiency.

Can I install a heat pump if my home isn't connected to the gas grid?

Homes lacking a gas grid connection often benefit from installing a heat pump. These systems significantly reduce reliance on traditional fuel sources like oil or LPG. Have a qualified installer conduct a heat loss assessment of your property to ensure the system is correctly sized and that any required infrastructure alterations are identified and implemented efficiently.
